Grace Yuu Asakura was a regular at the local libraries as a little girl. She was always searching for more than a small suburb of Japan was offering her. After falling in love with the magic of story telling, her interest quickly moved on to acting at the age of 10. Also as a way of physical expression, dancing became her passion, ranging from hip hop, jazz, house to ballet, tap, Polynesian. She is also a martial artist with black belt in Shorinji Kempo.

Her love of books got her into Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, one of the top schools in the country and she graduated with honors with a literature major. Now she writes scripts and produces her own short films, which you can find on her YouTube channel, where she also posts her popular Japanese language lessons. Her recent award-winning short “Dear Mr. Wrong” is currently featured on Amazon Prime Video.

Her endless motivation for this art form is to understand and share humanity, which she believes is the key to our personal and social happiness.
